Book indexers are invited to take part in a one-day advanced-level training course in Wellington on Monday, October 5. It will cover topics for fashioning professional back-of-book indexes, including the creation of subheadings, filing considerations for names, especially Māori and Aboriginal names, editing and proofing indexes, being a freelancer and quoting for jobs. The course is not for beginners. Participants should have done an ANZSI introductory or intermediate course or have experience producing indexes for publishers or institutions. The course will run from 9.15am to 5pm at Turnbull House in Bowen Street. The cost is $225 for ANZSI members and $275 for non-members.
